Paradise Point Resort & Spa Gives Back Through Adoption of Local School
Through this collaboration, Paradise Point and its team will connect with students, faculty and families and will dedicate time, funds and experiences to support the school’s mission of providing the highest quality education to its diverse student body. The resort team will work hand-in-hand with Ocean Beach Elementary faculty members to understand the unique needs of the school and its staff and students and will implement programming to inspire kindness and community involvement.
“We’re so proud to partner with Ocean Beach Elementary through the Adopt-a-School program,” said Michael Stephens, general manager at Paradise Point. “Community involvement is so important to us and we look forward to supporting the students, parents and faculty of Ocean Beach Elementary and lending our resources to support future generations.”
Paradise Point team members will lend their skills and support to the school’s after-school programming, recess monitoring and other classroom activities. Ocean Beach Elementary students will also have the opportunity to visit the San Diego island resort to learn more about the property and the tourism industry and will have the chance to shadow the resort team; spend time with property chefs to learn about food preparation; learn about the island flora and fauna from the on-property recreation department; participate in guided meditation, yoga and more.
“We are honored to be partnering with Paradise Point through the Adopt-a-School program. As a Title 1 school, we are always on the lookout for available resources and the Paradise Point team has been extremely generous in offering support to Ocean Beach Elementary. I know this partnership will be very beneficial for us and we’re proud to have such an iconic San Diego resort supporting our efforts,” said Marco Drapeau, principal at Ocean Beach Elementary.
Paradise Point will not only open up its facilities to the school for workshops, planning retreats and parent-teacher conferences, but will also develop a teacher-of-the-month recognition program to recognize the efforts of the school’s faculty. Outstanding performance by Ocean Beach Elementary teachers will be recognized and rewarded with curated experiences at the resort and spa.
